3/11/18 Smiles for Days

It’s been a little while since I have written, longer than I normally go. I’ll be honest I have had a bit of a hard time deciding what to write about this past week. Sometimes I feel like my posts need to be about a situation that I have gone through or a struggle that I am dealing with, but these past couple weeks have been really good.

I just made the mistake of looking back at Facebook to the day Aubrey passed away. I reread all of those sweet, apologetic comments that you all left for my family and I. I definitely should not have done that because the waterworks got a little out of control for a minute. I’m used to that anymore though. But the one thing I noticed that the majority of you all said in your comments was how much joy you could see in my sweet girls smile. And how much you loved seeing that smile on your screens.

I miss that beautiful smile beyond belief but thank God for reminding me to take a million pictures while Aubrey was here. Haha Aubrey got so used to the camera she knew what I was trying to do and the minute I would hold my phone up she would quit smiling or she would start to do a gazillion different faces all within like a minute of each other. It was the funniest thing in the world. She would have me laughing so hard and then look at me like “what’s so funny mom?”

I didn’t share a ton of videos while she was here and that’s just because I have never been huge on posting videos. But I wanted to share one that was taken while we were on a camping trip. We had just finished changing her trach, cleaning her up and were just starting to get ready for bed. And this is just a glimpse of the goofball that she was growing up to be. Here you see the silly faces she was learning to make and the noises she was figuring out she could make. The noise that sounds like a gurgle is her breathing. She was just beginning to need to be suctioned.

I want to keep this post short and just take a moment to share some pictures of our sweet girl and the joy she brought to us and the world around her.
